Gone for a little ride..
About this blog
Thanks for visiting my bike trip blog ! The plan is for me and one of my oldest friends (I've known him a long time, he's not ancient) JB to ride two 1200GS Adventures north from Anchorage past the Arctic Circle to the most northerly town accessible by road in North America - Deadhorse, Alaska. We'll then turn the bikes around and head south to the southern tip of Tierra Del Fuego and the town of Ushuaia, passing some places of interest like Machu Picchu and Yellowstone National Park along the way. The main objective though is some challenging riding on some of the best routes in the world both on and off road. All that remains after touching the waters of the Beagle Channel is to turn north again for 2,000 miles across the Argentine pampas to Buenos Aires and then attempt to get home without being late for work.
24,000 miles, 20 border crossings, a limited time frame and total reliance on two bits of BMW machinery. Surely a fool proof plan. What can possibly go wrong ? Stay tuned and find out...
