2012--The Year of Living Outrageously, Part 1, Hawaii!!!
About this blog
Hello!
This year is winding down quickly. We've taken several exciting trips: Florida for two weeks, Niagra Falls/Toronto for 2 weeks and Mexico, Belize and Guatemala for 16 days. When I look to 2012 I want it to be outrageous.
I want to stand on December 31, 2012 looking back at the year and know that I've lived to my fullest potential. I feel most alive and connected when I am traveling. So, why not travel more--like most of 2012? I presented the idea to Thomas several months ago and received a lukewarm response, which really meant no. Then approached the subject a few weeks ago, and the temperature was still tepid. Then he had a revelation and said yes! Yahoo!
Now we are at the beginning stages of planning our travel for next year. I am drawn to visit Hawaii first. I've never been there but have been reading a book which talks about Hawaii having tremendous energy centers. Thomas has spent a lot of time there windsurfing and traveling around and loves it. Sounds like a great way to start the year. We will go for 2-3 months, rent a house or apartment, and Thomas will create art and find construction work for income. Instead of traveling around the whole time, we will find a place to live and immerse ourselves in the culture and environment. I will focus more on homeschooling Mecca, working on my travel blog, and maybe find freelance writing and producing projects.
I am quite excited about next year, but then the fear comes up--mostly about money. Will we be able to support ourselves? What if we run out of money? Can we find a reasonably priced place to live? What about our house here? On and on. I started to bore myself with the endless fear-based questions. In the end, the move feels right. When I think about it, I totally light up inside. I have a deep sense of well-being that we are taken care of.
Welcome to the planning of 2012. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy sharing our experiences.
