Exploration of the Northern portion of the Maya Region

This was our second trip to the Maya region, last year touring Guatemala and Honduras. On the itinerary was of course Chichen Itza, Tulum, and Bonampak (everybody has to see them once right?) but we also had a few other oddities in mind. Like stopping by the sanctuary of the Talking Cross on Easter Sunday, or cruising down the Usumacinta to take a peek at Yaxchilan. Despite our over-crowded van, flight delays, and all the other "hardships" that accompany great experiences such as this, it was a trip that I'm sure I won't be forgetting soon.
