One of dreams for University had always been to do a study abroad. When I got involved in managing Willamette's Bistro, I thought I would be too involved in that world to be able to fulfill my dream of becoming an exchange student. Thankfully, the position changed my senior year, and I was able to convince the sociology department that I needed to go to James Cook University (where the emphasis is on marine biology) to study Australian anthropology! My rationale was that I needed to go in order to complete my thesis comparing the Native American experience to the Native Australian experience. They bought my ploy and off I went...
