From Bangalore to Udaipur: India 2009
About this blog
After an amazing 180-day, six-continent adventure earlier in 2009 that focused much on my own desires to learn and see more of our amazing planet, I returned Stateside searching for an opportunity put others' needs ahead of my own. This opportunity presented itself in the form of the Asian Christian Academy (www.ACAIndia.org), a community of schools, an orphanage and a hospital outside of Bangalore, India.
My current plan is to spend roughly three weeks beginning November 10 at this campus where I will be used in what ever way the leaders of ACA best see fit. Fortunately, as I love working with kids, there are nearly 1,000 children and close to 100 orphans and boarders who turn to this institution for their education, love, health and hope in a world which otherwise could be very bleak for them.
After I wind down my time in Southern India, I will continue to take the opportunity while in this country of over 1 billion people to further explore its culture, but in the North as I join a tour group for a no-thrills tour of Rajasthan, Agra and Delhi. En route back home, I will also have the opportunity to catch up with friends in London I met during my "180 Day" tour as well as family in North Carolina, arriving back in Texas just in time to celebrate Christmas with my immediate family.
