First two weeks in Taita/Rukinga Wildlife Conservancy, Tsavo Region, KENYA to work with Lions. After that, off to South Africa for another 2weeks!

History behind the Tsavo expedition - if anyone has watched the film 'the ghost and the darkness' you'll hopefully have a vague recollection of a time when Lions in the Tsavo national park turned to humans as prey.This was a direct result of drought and consecutive absence of rains...Also, there have been a number of books written(all worth a read)on this subject. 'Man Eaters of Tsavo', and 'The Lions of Tsavo'. What i'll be doing - trekking, locating lions, taking photos of lion whisker patterns videotaping and recording behavior...but most importantly, i'll be enjoying the unbroken views ofthe wild African bush stretching to the horizon!
