Surfing, Camping and Tequila- a roadtrip trough Baja, Mexico
About this blog
The idea of road-tripping in Mexico was born when my boyfriend carefully suggested that maybe we could take the mighty Subaru Outback down south from San Diego for our annual travel adventure over the Holidays. While Josh meant a couple days, heading to Valle De Guadalupe for some wine tasting and maybe to Ensenada where one can pick up some fun Mexican blankets, I heard a month-long Mexican extravaganza filled with surfing, camping and adventures along the road.
We settled for a trip somewhere in the middle; a 2,5 week Baja excursion with visits to the Ruta del Vino, the Sea of Cortez, Todos Santos and if we feel like putting our dancing shoes on; Cabo de San Lucas.
With the car loaded with surfboards, camping gear, yoga mats and snorkels for us along with some Coca-Colas, Snickers bars and Cigarette packets as potential "gifts" to the guys at the neverending military checkpoints, we felt ready to rock the Mexican carreteras.
