This travel blog is about my travels through Guatemala and Honduras. Join me as I learn to improve my Spanish, travel by chicken buses and explore the ancient Mayan ruins.

While my trip may seem short to some (6 weeks) I am happy to be taking the time off. A dash of scared, a teaspoon of nervous and a whole lot of excited.

Why, you ask, do I want to travel through those two particular countries? I am fascinated with the ancient civilizations of Central America and want to improve my Spanish. Also, since I am not getting paid while on my extended vacation, inexpensive countries were a must. And Guatemala and Honduras satisfy that requirement.
