About this blog

We flew out of Montreal, Que. on a direct flight to El Savaldor, a country in Central America which borders the North Pacific Ocean between Guatemala and Honduras. El Salvador, in a nutshell, is one of the world's best kept secrets thus far. It is the most densely populated nation on the American mainland and is, however, undergoing rapid industrialization.

We stayed at the Royal Decameron Salinitas Hotel (newly opened in 2006) which offers a fantastic Mayan flavored all-inclusive vacation experience. Located on El Salvador's Pacific coast just 45 minutes outside of San Salvador, Decameron Salinitas borrows heavily from Salvadorian culture with both its colorful architecture and its many Mayan statues distributed throughout the property.
