Honduras - Copan (2 days)
About this blog
By car, 5 hours from Guatemala City, off we went to the important site of Copan just across the border in Honduras.
While nowhere near as fascinating as Tikal, the ruins are quite large and the significant artwork on display is very interesting, as is making your way through the tunnels inside some of the structures (though somewhat of a rip off).
The nearby staging town of Copan Ruinas (Copan Ruins) is full of travellers and a great place to spend a couple of nights, as we did.
