To Pondicherry - Renaissance revisited and Mahabalipuram - the temple town.
About this blog
This travelogue covers my visit to the twin towns of Pondicherry (now Pudducherry) and Mahabalipuram (now Mamallapuram). Both the cities are located on the south-eastern coast of India flanked by the Bay of Bengal.
While Pondicherry is a former French colony (became free in 1954) known for its renaissance styled houses, clean -wide streets that cut each other at right angles and ofcourse, Sri Aurbindo.
Mahabalipuram on the other hand is quiet town, nearly 58 km from Madras(Chennai). It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its shore temple and rock carvings.
