About this blog

This trip was the longest I have taken to date at 28 days. It was me, my wife, and my four year old (who has been camping since he was four months old.) This was our quest to experience as much of America as we could see in one month. We saw the farms and the fields, the deer and the antelope playing, the geysers and volcanoes, the Pacific and the coast, the desert, the footsteps of history.

All of this was written on the road at the end of each night on my iPod. Because of this, it is rife with misspellings and errors that I will fix as time permits. It is, though, a pretty accurate order of things and is full of my moods and impressions on my surroundings. There are also some useful commentaries on travel with a little kid. (There is nothing better for making the familiar fresh than showing the world to a preschooler!)

See my travel website at www.splencner.com/road for much more on this and other trips.
