Over four years in the making, this is my attempt to backpack around the world utilizing surface transportation only (boats, trains, walking, hitchhiking, camels, whatever). Beginning 10/22/10 in Milwaukee, WI, my friend Phil and I drove across the USA to Los Angeles, CA . From there, I had to cheat and fly to South Korea because I couldn't find a decent way by sea. Since then, I've been on my own, working my way westward by bus, train, boat, and whatever else I find. Follow along as I get into all sorts of wacky situations!
