This is my first active volcano I have ever visited in my life. From Surabaya, Indonesia, my friends and I chose to go to Mount Bromo. We began our journey around midnight with sleepy eyes but energetic heart. It took 3 hours to reach the first stop to change our vehicle to Jeep. The older style Jeep like the ones we see in the Indiana Jones movies. We traveled for another 2 hours to reach the mountain top . We supposed to see the sunrise but just see the fog instead. Traveling down to the vast plain leading to Mount Bromo-a silvery mountain standing high with sulfur smoke billowing from the top. I took a horse ride to the stair that lead to the volcano's crater. Around 200 steps almost took my breath away! Amazing sight ,indeed!!!!!!!
