Corrugations of a Sunburnt Country
About this blog
Glen and Simone head out west along the Anne Beadell Hwy through the Great Victorian Desert in South Australia until civilisation is reached again at Laverton. See a few ghost towns from mining times along the way, maybe a spot of detecting then across to Geraldton on the west coast. After a brief pit stop it's through Kalbarri National Park, snorkelling and dolphins at Monkey Mia and back inland to Cue and onto the mining towns of Newman, Tom Price and Paraburoo with Karajini National Park thrown in for extra measure. Down to Carnarvon, put the feet up at Quobba Station then more snorkelling and hopefully whales and dugongs at Ningaloo and Exmouth. After Karratha, Port Hedland and Marble Bar absolutely nothing is organised. One of three options will prevail. With no time left perhaps a dash home via the Nullarbor, some time left might envoke a visit to Broome and experience the Tanami Road or if there is a decent bit of time left perhaps Kakadu or Lawn Hill. Either way, 2 1/2 months of fantastic national parks and gorges, vast expanses and did I mention snorkelling?
