Bruck an der Mur has one of the nicest street theater festivals in Austria. "Murenschalk" is located in the charming innercity of 'Bruck' and is very well organised - crowds completely swarm the city knowing they want to be delighted and entertained.

I witnessed the 1999 total solar eclipse here, together with 1000's of other people, from the hillside of the castle/fortress remains. It was pure magic. From our vantage point we witnessed the progressive blackening of the valley as the shadow of the eclipse approached us...
