It is January 11/2012. We have just recovered from the two tsunamis-the Oertel and the Gaudun- to hit this place this past weekend. We are yet to complete the packing of our lone backpack and lone daypack. Until this is successfully completed we try to keep the anxiety under control. We will go to Toronto tomorrow and stay at a Days Inn near the airport. In the morning we get shuttled to Pearson Airport by 7:55 am and catch our Westjet flight at 9:55 am, landing in Holguin, Cuba at 1:47 pm. We have already reserved a "casa particulare" for Friday and Saturday. On Sunday we travel to Guardalavaca and the self-inclusive resort of Amigo Atlantico. There we stay for 4 days and do some snorkelling on the off-shore reef. After that my friend "Flo(w)" will advise us where to go. Let the adventure begin.
