Northern Europe - Copenhagen, St. Petersburg, Stockholm - the itinerary alone sounds like a fairy tale. The trip will encompass some time on land, a 10 day cruise, and is scheduled to have a surprise appearance by my friend Villi in Finland. J and I will be joined by J's parents throughout the journey.

This much needed vacation begins with three days in Malmo, Sweden, so I can return to my roots. My father said his mother is from Malmo - and even though I'm adopted and have red hair and don't even look a little Swedish, my maiden name really was "Larson," so I'm sure that counts.

After Malmo, we'll return to Copenhagen to board the Emerald Princess and cruise through the Baltic, stopping in Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallinn (Estonia), Gdansk (Poland), and Oslo before returning to Copenhagen for a few days prior to flying home.
