Student Exchange: Australia
About this blog
In 2005 while I was in Grade 11, I was impatiently sitting in the library listening to a representative from Lakehead University rave about how much he likes the school (which was a little biased in hindsight considering he worked for Lakehead). Nearing the end of his presentation he touched on a topic that has since changed the way I have planned my experience as a university student. Of course what I am talking about is a student exchange programme.
Here is the Cole's Notes version of the programme:
1. Students are Lakehead students studying at another university
2. Students do not pay any extra tuition costs to participate in the programme
3. Students do not have to live with a host family or accept an exchange student into their home at any time
4. All credits taken abroad will be counted towards the student's degree as long as they have prior approval from Lakehead staff
5. Scholarships and bursaries are available to help with the costs of the student exchange
6. There is a Lakehead International Officer named Wendy whom is a godsend in helping you plan for the trip
