Alaska is truly for me, the "last frontier." Having traveled across the contienet on different routes 5 times via motorcycle, I have visited all of the lower 48 U.S. States and the Eastern Canadian Provinces. This travel adventure will be enhanced by a strenuous backpacking trip in Colorado. Much of the gear used in adventure motorcycle touring can be equally utilized backpacking (e.g. sleeping bag, compact cook stove, survival gear). One must be a minimalist in either endeavor. I will likely visit a friend in Bozeman, Montana on the way up for some fly fishing and story telling.

I've never done a blog before...just kept personal travel journals. They have produced some of my best writing. This should be a blast.
