About this blog

Just a little about ourselves... we've sailed 36 cruises with Princess, so we have Elite status, which makes longer cruises easier... priority embarkation and disembarkation, free laundry, free internet package and priority tendering. In the past several years, we've made the cut for the "Most Traveled" passenger lunch... which has been a treat. We enjoy sailing Princess ships and this cruise was no exception.

We've also sailed several times on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, twice on Crystal, twice on Holland American, once on Carnival and once on now defunct Pearl Cruises. I think it's fair to say, we've seen the world by cruise ship. It's definitely been our preferred choice of travel.

The 32 day Asia cruise I am blogging about, will be our longest yet. We are part of the very best cruisecritic.com roll call ever. Our leader, Ray, a cruisecritic member, was amazing. His organizational skills brought us all together on-line... he set up a photo page where we could contribute a photo of ourselves, he set up a list of information on our pre-stay Bangkok hotels, our cabin numbers on the ship, our e-mail addresses and our home cities and states. On our roll call, he set up weekly discussion on the various ports of call and sign-up sites for member-arranged tours. Excitement grew and our roll call grew as we waited for the cruise date to finally arrive. By the time we all met on board the Diamond Princess, most of us felt like we knew each other.

We hope you enjoy reading about our Asian Adventure as much as we enjoyed living it... 5 days in Bangkok and a 32 day cruise that started in Bangkok and ended in Whittier, Alaska.

  • Less than 2 months to go!!
