Sam Philpott's Travel Adventures
About this blog
I spent 3 months in South America from Sept to Dec 2010, volunteering in Cusco, Peru where I taught English to children, before backpacking through Bolivia, Chile and Argentina (reaching Ushuaia the southern most city in the world).
Christmas, New Year and my 40th was spent in Egypt...a place that I am getting to know very well. This is my 5th time in a year. I was due to study for a TEFL qualification in February in Alexandria but that was cancelled due to the Revolution!
I spent nearly 2 months in Australia during March and April, my 6th time in 20-years. This time I finally got to Kathadu National Park, the Great Barrier Reef and Melbourne. I visited the Indonesian island of Bali, and May was spent enjoying the buddhas, bars and beaches of Thailand.
It's been a great adventure and it does seem like a life-time ago that I stepped off the plane in the ancient Andean capital of Cuso, but great memories which will last a life-time.
