Northern Chile, starting a few miles north of Santiago, is nothing but desert. Driest place on earth, which looks like moon. Because of the tall Andes(tallest mountains in the world after Himalayas)in the back, it is possible to see the desert and the snow caped mountains in the back at the same time even in the middle of the summer.
