Namaste!
About this blog
As a Milton Stewart Fellow of Indiana University's Center on the Global Legal Profession, I have the incredible opportunity to live and work in New Delhi, India this summer. For the first six weeks, I will be interning at the Dalit Foundation, and then at a law firm, Lalit Bhasin & Company for the last three weeks.
The Dalit Foundation is a rights-based, non-governmental organization working for the empowerment of the Dalit community. Please visit: www.dalitfoundation.org for more information.
India has a closed legal system, meaning foreigners cannot practice law in India. Lalit Bhasin is a strong advocate for keeping the Indian legal system closed. He is excited to show me why India's legal system is successful and self-sustaining without foreign influence.
