Roaming Russell in Germany

About this blog

Here we go again.. The yearly quest to touch history, have fun, romance, and experience other cultures.

The Germany/Austria trip has never seemed as exciting to me as some of the others. That is why it took 7 years to finally get to this one. As I have studied and prepared for this trip, I have found myself looking forward to this more than any other. These places have as much history as any other place in Europe from Roman Empire up until the 20th century. But so much happened leading up to the 2nd World War and post WWII. We will have a lot to learn.

Learning is not the only goal. The other is to win the contest for having the most fun in Germany over the next 2 weeks. I am not sure anyone else knows the contest starts on April 21st. Too bad for them, because they will lose this little contest of mine.

If you watch along with us, thanks. We always learn a lot and have a blast along the way. It is a lot of fun to share those experiences with friends and family. I am convinced that we could have a lot more fun with bigger groups. This is in part my way to inspire people to join us.

I must give a pre-trip thanks to Tom and Ann and Russell Sr. and Nancy for keeping the kids.

Also to Karie, Jennifer, and Dale for looking after things at the office. I will owe some big favors when I return.
