Life of Riley - Thailand 2011
About this blog
I've been back in California for almost a year now. The smell of home-grown vegan cookin' from the Twelve Tribe's commune and the thrill of being completely self-reliant, lost along the Coromandel peninsula, lingering heavily in my memory like a good Merlot on the back of the tongue. We had no possessions save the ones on our backs and no destination but the horizon. The months spent in Australia and New Zealand, traveling aimlessly with Toby, opened my eyes to the true joy of life and the infinite possibilities at our fingertips. In that short time I learned more about myself, my life, and the world around me than I could ever hope to convey in words (what I might venture to call a spiritual awakening).
Now those memories are but a weak fuel for my soul's idling engine, and the road calls me back again. I came home to Healdsburg for summer and the sun and friends, all of which were right where I left them, but things have quickly turned to gray, losing their novelty, and Ive been contemplating my next move since the first week back. Now I have a plane ticked to Thailand. Here will be my personal account of my travels as i find the time to write.
