I've been alive for 22 years. Twenty-two years, and a half. And how many volcanoes have I climbed? How many jungle shamans have I seen? How many frozen salt planes have I walked? How many ancient Inca capitals have I explored? None.

Well that's about to change. I've decided it's about time to meet the neighbors and show them that their amigos from the north aren't so bad afterall. That's right, I'm going on a tour of the Other America, way down South. Follow me and my growing beard and see if you can count how many extremes I encounter in the land of superlatives.
