I have been wanting to visit Japan for many years and I finally made it there for Christmas 2011. The trip started out with plans for many stops in major cities including Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima, but quickly got shorted to just Osaka and Kyoto as it because more and more likely that I would not be able to get a Japan Rail pass in time which would make unlimited travel quick and relatively inexpensive. Consider it a reconnaissance trip with another visit in the books...
