SAGA of the North - Should have gone to Iceland.
About this blog
This is the story of my trip to Iceland, once again starring my faithful old motorcycle "Suzy". Kicking off on the 17th of June, it involves some serious sea journeys that I am not looking forwards to! Full load of pills, bands, buckets and crossed everything.
The plan is to cross the Channel, Harwich to Hoek Van Holland, ride across Holland into Germany. Cross the River Elbe at Hamburg and then head north through Denmark to the port of Hirtshals on the northern tip of Denmark. This appears to be the only port in Europe with a ferry to Iceland and then only once a week. It is a 2 day crossing weather permitting, stopping on route at Faroe and arriving at Seydisfjordur on the east coast of Iceland.
"For travel to be delightful one must have a good place to leave and return to", Frederic Wilcox.
