A teacher on tour in Egypt, a history unit made live through travel. From the treasures of King Tut in the Egyptian Museum to a Bedouin camp in the Sinai, history and culture came alive.
About this blog
This is the travelogue of a dream-come-true trip I took in 2005 with my son David. The year before my daughter had taken a tour to Egypt. Her enthusiasm and photos convinced me that Dave and I had to do the same. We couldn't find a tour that gave us enough time in Luxor and Aswan, so for most of the trip we were independent travelers. In the Sinai we booked a tour, which turned out to be the two of us plus a guide and a driver. It was fantastic. I had the opportunity to experience the places and culture I had so long taught to my students. We took advantage of some cheap airfares to include a visit to family in England. All together it was about five weeks of a great learning experience.
