This is an account of a two-week trip to Lebanon in September 2011, finally executing a plan that had been with me since the early 1990's. Contrary to what many travelers, writers and Lebanese will make you believe, Lebanon is not a beautiful country - but it certainly is a very interesting place, with an enormous diversity, and with a rich history in both distant and recent past, and plentiful traces to remind you thereof.
