About this blog

My name is Graeme Mackay, and I'm 24, and hail from Inverness in Scotland. I lived there until I moved to Glasgow aged 18, where I studied Events and Entertainment Management. I love the city.

However, travelling and experiencing different things around the globe has long been an inherent ambition of mine, and finally towards the end of 2010 myself and my girlfriend Abi made the decision to formally plan a year of travels, taking in SE Asia, New Zealand and Australia.

This set in motion an arduous year of working two jobs constantly for me, and an insane amount of overtime for Abi. Truly we would not have been able to pull through such an amount of work without a tremendous network of friends and family, and the knowledge that greater things await.

November 1st will be our leaving date, and I'll be using this blog to document our travels, experiences, memories and general goings-on in the wider world. I'll do my best to keep things updated as much as possible, and hopefully I'll be able to provide some entertainment and laughs along the way.

Finally, somehow, we are approaching the all important date. I can't wait to get this blog into full swing, here's to some mind-bending, eye-opening and positively memorable times.
