Thai whiskey. Salted grasshoppers. Getting drunk slowly on weak Mekong whiskey, soda and ice with the tuk-tuk drivers at some roadside motorcycle bar. This was northern Thailand.
About this blog
Another trip to Bangkok. I can't seen to get enough of this city. I wake up, walk down Sukhumvit Road stopping to buy fresh spring rolls, fresh squeezed orange juice, and some fruit. I can't describe how the sharp morning light and the steadily growing sounds of traffic seem to somehow balance in perfect harmony with the jasmine flowers and incense offered at tiny Buddhist alters on every other corner. It is a city of so many contradictions and contrasts - subtle blending of the old and traditional with the sleek and modern.
