St. Petersburg In DECEMBER! In WINTER! I know, it seems a bit odd especially to those of you who know me well. It was just one of those opportunities that presented itself and I could not say no.
About this blog
My friend Olga asked me if I would be interested in a trip to Russia and I was somehow inclined to say yes, despite the fact that we would be going during the winter.
It was one of those trips where I had no idea of what to expect and the only thing I did to prepare was to buy a very warm coat. We rented an apartment on the main street called Nevsky Prospkt, quite close to the train station for Moscow. I suppose I was expecting the stereotypical Soviet era building lacking in color and character and devoid of any individuality. Instead, we were in the city that could easily compete with Venice for the architectural beauty and elegance of the streets, the houses, and the myriad cathedrals which are clustered on & around this famous street.
