Transiting the Trans-Siberian
About this blog
Hello again,
Another year, another summer trip! This time I'll be heading off to Russia to experience one of the world's great railway journeys: The Trans-Siberian Express. And I'll be doing the full run starting all the way out east in Vladivostok (right next to North Korea) then trundling across the rails for eight days until finally finishing up in St. Petersburg. Of course there will be some stops along the way including such places as Lake Baikal, the oldest and deepest lake on earth. A week long jaunt south into Mongolia. And some folks may have heard of a little town called Moscow.
Depending on how much time I have left, parts of Eastern Europe are also on the agenda. Hopefully, I'll be able to sprint through the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. From there it's a quick transit through Poland finishing up in Ukraine.
A cool Russian summer, vodka, beautiful European cities and an eight day train journey. What's not to like?
Brett
