Skirting the South American Coast
About this blog
Hello all,
The weather is boiling hot over here in Dubai, and thankfully that means it's travel time! This year will see me heading down to South America for the second time in my life. About twelve years ago I made my way from the northern tip of South America all the way to Tierra Del Fuego on the southern tip, mostly moving along the western side of the continent. This time around I'll again be moving from north to south, but along the eastern side. The starting point will be Caracas, Venezuela followed by Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and finally Brazil. For the most part these are all the countries I didn't get a chance to visit on my first run, and they are all, more or less, along the northern and eastern coast. Some of the highlights should include the Andean state of Merida in Venezuela, the Amazon river and its surrounding rain forest and, of course, the beaches of Rio De Janeiro. All in all, there should be lots to see and do while I'm skirting the South American coast!
