About this blog

In June 2010 we uprooted ourselves from home, family and jobs and set off on an eleven month journey around the world. We selected 14 countries, some we sped through by train, others we explored slowly on foot, trekking into some really wild places. We travelled as much as possible by rail and sea, balancing city with wilderness, challenging ourselves, and meeting lots of interesting people along the way. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made our trip what it was.

We're very much aware of the impacts of travel on the world's climate so we've offset the carbon emissions from all our flights using Climate Care (www.jpmorganclimatecare.com). Their methodology is recognised by many in the travel industry (inc. Lonely Planet and Rough Guide). Even more reassuring for us is the fact that many of Climate Care's offset projects are based in countries that we visited and loved, including India and Cambodia. It isn't a perfect solution, but hopefully somewhere along the way it'll make a difference.
