Newlands exploring new lands
About this blog
After my RTW trip in 2010, I was desprate to do a lot more travelling, only this time I would be on my own, making my own decisions and making my own mistakes.
Although it's a daunting prospect heading off on my own, I had great support from my friends and family who had come to realise just how important travelling was to me. I had always wanted to travel, but ended up stuck between work and a mortgage and I just never got away.
So after a change of job, selling my flat and generally having no ties, I figured it was my time to go. I booked a one way ticket to Delhi, my basic plan being to visit India then head off to Nepal trekking which I had always wanted to do although I couldn't decide between Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit!. From there the rough plan is to see Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and travel down through Malaysia, Indonesia and eventually Australia.
So I handed in my notice to a job I was really enjoying and just went for it. Let the adventures begin - who knows where I will actually end up and as for a return date...well who knows.
