Brussels
About this blog
Brussels was voted the the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2000. The main attraction is the Grand Place in the centre of the city with many small, cosy streets branching off in all directions.
There are many museums, Mannekin Pis statue, Royal Palace and great bars serving numerous Belgian beers in the city.
A short journey out of the city is the Automium (left over from the 1958 World Fair) and the plains of Waterloo where Napoleon was defeated in the Battle of Waterloo.
