Have you ever ridden a camel? Erg Chebbi are among the best places to experience this life time adventure. You can not imagine yourself riding a camel , enjoying the desertic landscapes of the Moroccan sahara desert.

Rough Tours welcomes you! Our base of camel riding is located in Both Erg Chebbi, Merzouga and Erg Remlia, therefore wherever you like to ride your camel, you are welcome. We assure you to have a good experience with our fiendly camels.

To reach Erg Chebbi, Merzouga is very easy from all Moroccan cities.

From Fez:

While being in Fez, there still about 8 hours drive by your car to arrive Merzouga and you can ride the camel when you arrive in late afternoon or you spend the night in the hotel and you can do the camel trek in early morning or in the afternoon of the next day so that to spend the night in an equipped berber tents in the middle of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi,Merzouga. If you do not have your own can,you can use the public transports like CTM and Soupratours which are overnight buses and start from Fez and end in Rissani and Merzouga respectively.

From Marrakech:

Marrakech to Merzouga is about 10 hours drive by your car and there is an overnight bus to Rissani, but it is not assured everyday, therefore, it is preferable to take the CTM from Marrakech to Errachidia, then take a taxi to Rissani and Merzouga.

Besides the buses, from all Moroccan cities, there is the grand taxi which links the Moroccan cities and towns with Merzouga passing through Rissani.

Erg Remlia is located in the west of Merzouga about 70 kms. The off road Taouz to Remlia is Known as the Standard piste of Paris Dakar racing. Our clients who book the full tour package with us have the chance to do the camel riding in Erg Chebbi or Remlia. This latter is a total wilderness area and also we try to promote the daily living of the local nomads who use their camels as a source of a living. The village Remlia is a desert oasis and can be reached only by Four wheel drive cars (4x4), motorcycles and camels, the original 'boat of the Sahara'.

This small village is well known by a small market where the women sell their handcrafts .It is a good experience to have the chance to talk with the local sellers. Remlia also is a nomadic place as most of its residents now are originally nomads and there still lot of families who still have most of its family members in tents in the nearby areas.
