Spring is in the air in sunny but cold Stockholm, but it just doesn't quite do it for me. I need warmth, and I need it now! I could also do with a good rest combined with adventure, so I've now packed my bag for just that.

I'm starting with two weeks adventure travel with my favourite sputnik Peter, exploring different parts of Costa Rica. Then I'm off on my own to tvolunteer work in a rainforest expedition for 5 weeks. Sooo what have I gotten myself into you may wonder, well I do sometimes... Well, I hope to learn lots, meet cool people, see LOTS of amazing animals, and perhaps do some good at the same time.

The main projects involve: marine turtle monitoring, jaguar research, bird monitoring, camera trapping and aiding environmental education programmes. We'll be based at a biological field station a short canoe paddle from the beach on the Carribbean Coast (Tortuguero National Park). With a backpack containing items such as a head torch, mosquito net, camelpack, binoculars, and a first aid kit jammed with goodies, I am prepared!
