The first leg of my travels saw me spend 3 months travelling from Cape Town to Nairobi through eight different countries. I used a few different types of transport ... my feet, a truck, makoro (boat made from a hollowed out tree) train, ferry, speedboat, local mini-bus (or Dala Dala), coach and quadbike !! We met loads of interesting and entertaining people along the way - and would definately recommend Africa as a holiday / travel destination... It's an amazing continent !
