Fifth year architectural studies: public space in a self-built poor urban community in Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia.

Semester one (of two) was spent on exchange (from Glasgow) in Singapore, from which I had exposure to a 'kampung' in Java. The inter-semester break (2 months) will be spent living in the kampung before returning for semester two in Glasgow to begin working on a 'proposal'.

This blog is of the time spent in the kampung. It has already been more intense and eye-opening than any other travels (including Pakistan and Iran) so it feels justified to make another blog.
