Like most people, Kobus and I LOVE to travel. We even have a world map with pins in the countries that we have visited. As Kobus and I were deciding where to go on honeymoon, Cuba came to mind. Ever since my cousin, Leentjie, married Angel, originally from Havana, Cuba, I wanted to visit Cuba and experience the vibrant and rich atmospheres for myself. It was perfect: The idea of great beaches, music, rum and revolution across the tropical island. We realized that it would be impossible to cover the entire island in a typical 10-day holiday but luckily we had time on our side since we were between jobs. Kobus terminated his job in Cape Town at the end of October 2010 and was only due to start working in Switzerland middle February 2011. So we left for Cuba two days after we got married and spent more than 4 weeks on the island during November and December 2010. Although it was in their winter, the average temperature was 28°C and the humidity 80%.
