GREAT ABOUT THIS HOTEL 1. Hotel employees are friendly, courteous, hard-working professionals. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in the western world. These employees are the best and can not even be compared with other hotel employees. They are the best. 2. Inside the hotel property, it is safe. Every where else in Cebu, it is dangerous if you do not look like the locals.

BAD 1. When it is dark, take a taxi at your own risk. This is big safety issue. Only use the hotel's taxi. They are a little bit expensive, but they are safe. 2. Vienna Taxi Company have dangerous drivers. One of them stops in bad areas and is looking for his friends to enter the taxi and hold us up. Thank God, they were not around when this driver is doing this. I left the City right away. A couple of French tourist did the same thing and told me that their taxi driver forced them to fill up the gas tank before he can deliver them back to the hotel. You can not just change taxis at night in Cebu. Cebu is like a big ghetto, you can not just stand alone and wait for a taxi. 3. The Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa has a bad chef. The food is so bad. Walk down to the other hotel (Sangrila) if you want better food to eat. 4. The entertainment in this hotel is very poor. They have skinny guys with beer bellies dancing Hawaiian. Their New Year show is 'Arabian Nights'. Are you kidding me? 5. You need to tolerate illegal activities when you are staying in this hotel. You see a lot of old white men with prostitutes. Or white gay men with prostitute, young kids. Not a place to bring your family, and explain to them what's going on. 6. In the Philippines, never assume you have a correct answer when you ask the locals or employees. Ask 3 people and believe them only if you get the same answer 3 times. 7. If you are white and beautiful, you will feel afraid because everybody stares at you. 8. The picture that you see in the Hilton Cebu page is wrong. First the water is not that blue. Second, when you seat in the beach, you only see an 90 deghree view of the sea. Then half of that 90 degrees is blocked by a big 'Expedition Fleet' that covers half of that 90 degree view of the ocean.

NEVER, EVER: 1. Never ride the local taxis, expecially at night, unless you have suiciadal instincts. 2. Never talk and entertain people who are selling you stuff in the streets or telling you about a nice place some where. 3. Never go to the Waterfront at Lahog and take a taxi to Mactan Island at night. You will be charged a very, very expensive taxi fare or worst be heldup. A lot of bad things can happen, which I don't want even to think about. 4. Never leave the hotel property at night and go to the city. 5. They claim that the Cebu guitars are 'world famouse'. They are expensive, and when you have a lot of time, look at the details. Their workmanship is not very good - glue sticking out of the guitars, scratches, etc. Never go to Allegre Guitars. They have a poor workmanship.

RECOMMENDATION 1. Never go to Cebu, unless you have a suicidal instinct. Cebu is a very, very dangerous place. 2. Go to Hawaii instead. You will spend the same about, but Hawaii is really beautiful and safe. 3. Go to Cebu and stay at the Hilton Cebu if you want to see guys with big beer bellies dancing Hawaiian.
