It all began when I was about 11 and my best friend from Fiji moved to Nairobi. She raved about the stunning landscapes and the breathtaking beauty that was Kenya. I put a little jar on my parents kitchen table - it was called "The Maia's going to Nairobi fund". Well, it has only been 13 years since then, and I finally get my chance. I am here in Nairobi to participate as part of the Canadian Youth Delegation attending the UN COP12 Conference on Climate Change.
