Return to SE Asia ...
About this blog
Jobless and homeless - why NOT travel?!
Ok - maybe that's not quite right. But as a 40-something year old, it was the right time to do this sort of travel if I ever was going to. My job contract was wrapping up, I wasn't tied to a home in Tauranga and the Auckland house is still rented out, so it's the perfect opportunity.
Although I have travelled to SE Asia a few times over the years, never for an extended period. I'm not sure yet if I'm cut out for living out a backpack for 6-7 months but I'll see how I go.
The original plan was to go it alone, but Alan is now joining me at some point, and I'm trying really hard to talk Debbie into travelling through Vietnam.
We'll see - it's all one day at a time!
The rough plan is this:
2 months Indonesia (Bali, Flores, Lombok) 1 month Vietnam 1 month Cambodia 1 month Laos 1 month Thailand 1 month Indonesia (Sulawesi).
I'll keep going until I've had enough - or the money runs out. Whichever happens first!
