Rachel and I set out on January 6, 2010 to explore the Southwest and Pacific Coast in search of a possible new place to call home. At the end of the journey, we: -traveled for 12 weeks -drove 11,800 miles -spent roughly $1400 on gas -Couch Surfed 18 homes for 35 nights -stayed in 5 family/friends' homes for 19 nights -stayed in 2 peoples' homes that we met for 3 nights -stayed in 1 lodge for free -camped for 14 nights -slept in our car for 1 night -stayed in a hotel/hostel for 9 nights -completed 4 days of craigslist jobs and made $400 -visited 16+ State and National Parks/Reserves/Monuments/Forests -encounter 1 dead battery, two punctured tires, and 1 slow leak of power steering fluid
