The Nile to the Holy Land

About this blog

As a teenager growing up in Tangier, Morocco I studied the history of the Egyptian Empire and dreamed of standing next to the Great Pyramid of Giza. I never did. Likewise, back in Pensacola, Beth read of ancient Egypt in books and never imagined she might set foot in this ancient land. We retired in 2010 but unrest in Egypt caused tourism to plummet. In 2013, the situation was little better but we resolved to cruise the Nile and to see Giza, Aswan and Abu Simbal. Then, we would see the Holy Land. Why now...because there might never be a better time.
