Punta Gorda, Belize

We traveled to Punta Gorda by plane from Belize City with two stops along the way. Planes are frequent and seem to leave when filled or they are ready. Taxi to front street to stay at friends house, which is primitive. We have walked the town, shopped at market and had food in almost every cafe. Food much the same everywhere, rice and beans, chicken fish? Not too good. Snack shack has the best lunch salad and whole wheat pancakes. We have driven to Mayan ruins, Lubaantun and taken kayak trip up local river. Snorkeling not availabe close except for greater than $200 a trip. Would only encourage short stay in Punta Gorda. We are going to Guatamala by boat so will see how that goes.
